Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

NO SALTAIRE SATIRE.

Saltaire's most recent quality of life ordinance prohibits night-time satirizing. "Day-time satire, if equipped with a bell, is still permitted. However, homeowners who have registered their property's bamboo status by June 15th can engage in night -time satire within the confines of the bamboo. If properly fenced in. " See section VbIIA78 of the Community Handbook (draft version.)

Here in the Hamptons we are free to satirize day or night, so long as it is done within 150 feet of an automobile manufactured in Germany. Go figure?

Take the "L" and the second "A" out of Saltaire, and you have "satire." The reason they are banning satire in Saltaire is because they think it is poor spelling.
