Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Derf said: Attention all, I would not dismiss this as a threat! Jim will just shut it down (he's like a regular Charlie Sheen)! Think of Saltaire 38 as if it were PBS or something. Every now and then you have to have a telethon or fund raiser. Consider making a donation of your stories and photos so that Jim does not have to run the same old ones.

OH Jim stop getting depressed about all of this work. THIS IS YOUR LIFE AND CALLING! WE NEED YOU AND LOVE YOU.

You have created what we all want to do think about Saltaire 24/7 not 7/11.

We all love you so much for doing this. I would give you a BIG hug for what you have done here.

Meet me on Broadway at the Ocean in one hour. If I am not there, wait I shall turn up eventually.

Meanwhile I hate to say it but that April 3 post above looks an awfully lot like JOH's work. WHO ELSE leaves the cap lock on ALL THE TIME?

Apparently the stress of this page is driving him to talk to himself. We had better drop in more stories before he GOES ROUND THE BEND and loses it ENTIRELY.

thanx for the help, pals. what i need are more stories linking the present to the past ( i.e., didn't t.s. eliot say "time past and time future is time present" or some such nonesense?)
so i need stories linking time present and past.

for instance, perhaps somebody could write a story recalling that the skipper of the le papillion sailed his/her sailboat with the same amount of skill that my old friend richard mcmanus used to sail his sailboats in the 1960's. any volunteers?

Jim -

OK, here's the past/present - the present skipper of LePapillon sailed her with the same skill as your brother Kenny sailed that Puffin sailboat of so many years ago.
