We are not sure exactly where on the bayfront the first picture depicts. It does not seem to be in the Boat basin by the main dock, as are most of the other surviving pictures of wreckage in the Bay. It shows a couple of houses

Interesting to know.
My dad donated the 18 1/2" x 15" aerial photo from the Long Island News taken the day after the hurricane. I believe it's hanging in the Town Hall, or maybe in storage. Quite an amazing photo. You can literally see the break-line where the wave damage stopped. My house (Muller, 114 Marine) twisted 45 degrees, falling to the ground. In the book the house was rated as "salvageable." I have a copy of the photo here and can email a digital photo of it to anyone who wants.
