Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

The Dana Walace Portraits

Almost anyone who grew up with their families in Saltaire in the late 1950's to the early 1970's had a family portrait done by Dana Walace. The setting was always the same-at the edge of the dunes, with the ocean in the background and dune grass immeadiately in front. We had a family portrait done every few years. For anyone who's interested, I'm the boy on the right next to my mother.

Chip: that is cool. You are right next to your brother? I thought your brother was an only child.
