Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

HY S. WATSON (1868-1933) was a pupil of Thomas Eakins and of Laurens when he studied in Paris. A Member of the "Society of Illustrator's," Watson's specialty was outdoor subjects -game, fish and hunting. Watson resided in NYC. He drew illustrations for Scribner's magazine in the early 1900's.

This print is from a State of New York Annual Report of the Commissioners of Fisheries, Game and Forests appearing between 1895 and 1906.
