Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Keegan, Michael K, 66, a resident of Boothbay Harbor, former resident of Wappingers Falls NY,and longtime resident of Saltaire New York died peacefully on June 23. Much-loved husband of Ellen Niewiadomski who predeceased him.  Cherished father of Jennifer, Danny and Kara and husband Nathan.  Adored PopPop of Emily, Tristam, Kathryn and Aidan Michael Sanborn and Gavin and Molly Ellen Staff. First and only son of Thomas P. Keegan also predeceased and Anne Coffey Keegan. Lucky brother gifted with four sisters Barbara Strong, Terry Keegan, Kathleen Keegan and Ellen LaSorsa.  Good humored “Uncle Hot Dog” to nieces and nephews too numerous to list. Proud Vietnam vet who served in the US Marine CorpKnights of Columbus GW Hudson Council member. Graduate of Mercy College and career employee of AT&T.  Michael loved life, his family and friends.  He enjoyed reading and watching The Rangers, Mets and Giants.  He particularly enjoyed spending time at the family home in Saltaire with his lively extended family.
Friends may call at Simmons, Harrington and Hall Funeral Parlor in Boothbay Harbor on Monday from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm with Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace at 10am
