Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

In the sailboat are Michael Bernstein, Sam Elkind and Zeb Ely. Who is the guy with Marie Aherne, Carol Scott and Bridget Brodking? Who are the kids on the dock? And is that really Joe Scanlon in front of the Sweet Shope?

Yes Cosmo, it is our brethren, supremely talented right fielder, Dogfish Joe Scanlan in front of the Saltaire Sweet Shoppe. Tempus Fugit....... Also recognizable are my dear, too soon departed pal Morgan Lightening Whitimore Gondor Baby Bentley, his sister Sharrie, Eltro Dave Standard, Brian Scott as well as some other kids who someone else may be able to identify. Top picture is of teen sweet sisterhood members, Carol Scott, Brigit Brodkin and Marie Aherne, being swooned by Dennis Keane. It refreshes long ago memories. The bottom four pictures were featured in that same year's photo book dedicated to Captain Al Skinner. The threesome on the dock were Richie Jessop, Robbie Monath and Mark Bentley. 1969 was indeed a very magical year............We must get together soon nostalgic Cosmo, to toast the past and moan about our future health maladies, Cheers..... In the Sweetshoppe foto I see, Robert Standard and David Standard in the back with, whom I think is, one of the Keegan Gals. Think it is Tolly Ludlow entering the door, Joe Scanlan and of course, Graham. The other two girls names excape me. What about the last two fotos: the couple walking on the dock and up close girl. Any ideas?

Time it was
And what a time it was
It was...

A time of innocence
A time of confidences

Long ago
it must be
I have a photograph

Preserve your memories
They're all that's left you
