Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Any word on what the plans are? Looks like people are starting to steal things off her.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

If the Village is stuck with the cost of getting Le Pappilion off the beach, it would be cheaper to have it cut up with a torch and hauled off in pieces.

Looks like looters have lifted Le Papillon's" yellow nameplate off the starboard stern. Probably white collar criminals wearing blue collar disguises from the immediate, neighboring village.

The looting and sand submersion of this beautiful vessel continues unabated. When will this madness stop? We need to immediately dispatch a protective force of Saltairian's to save this ship, taking up residence aboard, wielding protective swords and spears to ward off the barbarians, while digging a protective sand buffer around the hull. It may a damp, chilly April, but that must not deter us..we are Saltairian's, taught toughness by Uncle Pete, additionally sun burned by too much beach time, not wimps like the "O.B. is B.O." or "Point O' Weedser's!...Cosmo should be appointed overseer of this mighty militia. "Le Papillion" is our opportunity to show our true grit.

Cosmo would agree to being the overseer in return for a tankard of grog. Aarhgh!

Wait, make that a 55 gallon tankard of grog.
