Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Happy New Year to the Saltaire community past and present.

We are lucky to have Jim O'Hare putting so much time and thought into this blog for our enjoyment.

Thanks Jim!

IS ANYBODY WATCHING????? THAT'S PROBABLY THE DUMBEST, INANE QUESTION I'VE EVER SEEN ON THIS BLOG.

THE OBVIOUS ANSWER AS TO "IS ANYBODY WATCHING" IS A RSEOUNDING NO.

THE MARJORITY OF CURRENT RESIDENTS HAVE NO APPRECIATION FOR THE SALTAIRE OF 1911-THE LATE 60's

TODAY, RESIDING/OWNING A HOME IN THE VILLAGE IS SIMPLY SOMETHING TO PUT ON A FINANCIAL STATEMENT - ALONG WITH OVER ITEMS OF MATERIAL WEALTH. A STATUS ITEM ALONG WITH A PERSON'S MERCEDES, PIAGET WATCHES, ETC.

A SAD COMMENTARY.

Yes, yes, we are watching. Don't listen to the crabby comments too seriously.
Happy New Year, and happy anniversary to Saltaire. And another thanks to JOH.

Hey JOH!

I am grateful to you for keeping the ghosts alive for me and my family. While we may seldom be in the village again, we can always find pieces of our memories HERE on the Saltaire Blog.

THANK you Jimmy! And I hope we all have more opportunities to see each other and celebrate our memories.

Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to Saltaire!
