Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Squirt delivered these timeless gems.
We've now had contributions from a some great families from the Fifties: Stilgebauer, Weinlandt, The McMani, Fontanals,O'Shea, Keegan, Dobie, Mina, Wrights, Scotts, Kellys, the great Cosmo and the Hulls, and many more. They are all available here and only here, on http://www.saltaire38.blogspot.com/. Now we await yours. Cheer us up. Send us your Saltaire images; e mail your Saltaire stories. IMAGES FROM ANY TIME. ANY TIME. ANY TIME. ANY GENERATION. NEW, OLD, 50 YEARS AGO OR FIVE YEARS AGO. The only the only requirement is that they show to you that there really are places you remember, all your life.

We will be posting more from the great Aherne Archives in coming days, but not until somebody puts in the names of all the Girls on the beach(es), above. These are just some of the faces you remember, all your life.

I didn't know that brother Bobby was posting these great pictures.
1st picture is Jill Imray on the left and Moira O'Shea on the right. I don't know the young girl on the lifeguard chair.
2nd picture is Cathy Buchler on the right and everyone should be able to guess the lovely lady on the left.
Happy Birthday to Bobby and Bob Marley on the 6th
