Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Spring Sprung its Last

It rained. Slipping boardwalks slick with green and trunks of trees slick with green sprout from swampy water with floating houses where ducks splash dive around the pilings. Just means more ice cream for me.
Neighbors staying indoors or not on island at all this strange middling June weekend. Few witnesses to rare sightings this week, like lochnessmonsters......a plover hatched in Kismet some say, Chip Hull, Latham brothers, RETOR (!) in town. Sconzo boys swimming in the icy cold bay as usual must keep up with the Hercus.
One more week til that solstice and summer and all that sun and surf. Watch where the sun sets next weekend. It will be a nice long day.

That's the old dock house.
