Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Caught in the Act!

Upon spotting this post Nancy Beardsley comments:

My dad (Fr. Beardsley) will be happy to know that his suspicions were well founded! What you probably didn't know, when you rang the bell on those Saturday nights, was that he would get up and go check the Church each time (at least for the first 10 years). He would then be up for the rest of the night and greet my sisters, brother and/or me as we came in from Kismet. What came of this was the recitation of "If you're old enough to stay up this late, you're old enough to go to Church this early." We'd then have to go to the 8:00 service. Sorry to say, Chip &Co., you were not there WITH us!!
