Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Who's Who?

Guess Who All These Kids Are, and Guess the Year

First to respond:

Heather Jessup is far left (shortest), to her right is one of the Elizabeth or Diane Kelly. To her right is "Dinny" Jessup.Great pix Ralph. The firehouse really was red at one time? I did not remember that.

We need some more names, Pals, and a stab at the year. The editors have no idea who all these kids are, and Ralph is not allowed to answer because he took the picture. He can only referee disputes. It is more fun this way.----JO'H

LIZ KELLY SEES HERSELF:

That is Heather Jessop, Elizabeth Kelly, Dinny Jessop, Kathy Schwartz, Jeffrey Weber, (unsure who is in the striped shirt on Right), and Jilly Perlberger in front with the classic SALTAIRE shirt. I am guessing the year is 1974 or 75. And that red structure was also the art shed, a cool, damp, shady space that smelled like clay and glue and paint, and where overheated kids would be brought to cool down during camp. ---- E. Kelly.

THANKS ELIZABETH

WOW! What a blast from the past. Makes me homesick. I'm not sure who the other kids are, either.
