"In the time of your life--live." That time is short and it doesn't return again. It is slipping away while I write this and while you read it, and the monosyllable of the clock is Loss, loss, loss, unless you devote your heart to its opposition (--Tennesse Williams)
Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Long Time couple. Long Time ago. Name 'em.
Editors note: Jean Campbell got it right. See comments. This is the Scotts, year unknown but a long long time ago.
I guess people don't realize that if you enlarge the picture...and move your mouse over it...the names appear as a jpg file. Don't ask...don't tell. The year should be prior to 1956 and I don't think it's a Saltaire photo (regardless of the ocean fencing)...more like another place on the Island.
Dear Anonymous, jim's right, there is always one in the bunch. You have passed the test and you are now our new picture code-er. We'll expect you at your desk on Monday, no pay and please bring your own computer. We will bill you monthly for what ever other expenses we come up with. Welcome aboard!
While I certainly don't recognize them immediately, I do have to say that the handsome young gentleman's face reminds me of Allen "Fish" Aherne. Could these lovely and innocent-looking people be the progenitors of the (in)famous Aherne clan? Date must be late 40's...say 1948?
You are remarkably perceptive although I can tell you that Allen "Fish" (I never heard that name applied to Allen before) is not a DIRECT descendant of the above couple.

Is that the Schells (sp?) who used to live at the top of Broadway?
Sorry Jean, Try again.
I certainly recognize them, but I'm not going to spoil the fun.
OK Cosmo. You know them. I'll ask you a harder question: what year?

Shhh!
Hey "Anonymous" you are obviously enough of a geek to help us edit this blog. We are going to reformat shortly- can you help us with it?

Hey Blervin:

On closer look (without looking at the JPEG name, I'm guessing it's Alan and Marion Scott. No clue what year it is, though.
As for the pics above it with the question of who is in both - looks like Peg Cunningham to me, folks.
Guess Alan or Marion did not read - "KEEP OFF THE DUNES" Sign.
