Could everyone write one simple essay about something that once happened in Saltaire…that they saw or were a part of…and put it on one big website? Somebody should collect a lot of stories before we all forget. Otherwise it is like a line in “On The Beach” : The history of the war that now would never be written.” -(JO'H)

Kodachromes

"Gives you those nice bright colors

gives you the greens of summer

Makes you think all the world's a sunny day"

-Paul Simon

Talk about people walking on water:
Check out the girl in the lower left of this

1955 Stillgebauer photo.

See Mr. Mina on the Dock?

Is that "you-know who" in the water underneath
the starting dock?
Dig that cool yacht in the future Feustel slip.

And check out the 1955 Village (?) truck:

And what are all the people below gawking at?

For the answer to the last question, tune in tomorrow:

In response to JOH's KODACHROME postings -

Mr Mina - yes

You know Who?? Uncle Pete.
Feustel Slip - the boar with the white superstructure

Gawkers - Those are village residents staring in amazement at participants, still lying prostrate & dead drunk after a "Drink Fest" at the Shim Shack -

Skinner used to refer to those events that participants were referred to as members of "The Shim Shack Drinking Club"
